Painful Pathways
Painful pathways seem to be a part of the human condition and we accept them as status quo. We endure that which no longer serves us and we develop high tolerances for abuse, neglect, bullying, fear, and low functional people. We even endure the inner critic in our own heads and sometimes punish ourselves by reliving the ugly moments of life in our current moment of living.
It is exhausting.
Sisyphus, a King, a mean spirited cuss who seemed more consumed with his own narcissistic desires and could care less about his people. He was such a mean guy that Zeus had finally had it and condemned him to an eternity of pushing a boulder up a hill and then it would roll down and once again Sisyhus had to push it back up. There was no end to this constant cycle of getting nowhere. He was King of the hill and it was tormenting.
Traumas, pain and beliefs that are false notions taught and ingrained into tender minds can bring to us patterns in our lives where we too are pushing the boulder up the hill and it rolls down which starts the cycle all over and though it can seem familiar and like you are busily engaged in truth you are getting nowhere fast. To end this eternal pattern isn’t exactly easy it is doable. I invite you to end the suffering through awareness and self compassion. Use the S.T.O.P. method to create awareness and to make a better decision. STOP is simple and it works.
When you identify that you are in the suffering of pushing the boulder up the hill then you can apply these steps to help break the pattern and have a different outcome.
S- stand still. Seriously just stop what you are doing or thinking and get still. Maybe you have another option which you never see because you just start pushing the boulder once again.
T- teachable. Be teachable and look at your patterns that cause pain and then wonder without blaming yourself: Is there another option? Be willing to look around, ask questions, challenge your familiar ways of thinking, acting, believing, and let go into a new idea. A new point of view. Pick one that feels good.
O- optimize. We live often in the status quo. What would take your game to the next level. One iddy-biddy step that is in a new direction? Meditate at the base of the boulder. Draw on the boulder. Plant flowers around it. Walk to the top and look at the view without the boulder being a part of the push for the day.
P- practice. It will take practice to stop doing the boulder thing. It will take you being bolder in spirit to practice a new thought, new language or new belief. It is a spiritual practice to show up different for yourself.
Take a minute today and STOP. I send you love and offer a free consultation to see if we might be a fit to work together to get you out of your boulder moments. Email me at : rainbowabegg, llc
